Pet-Friendly Hotels, Lodging, and Businesses

Did a hotel or accommodation go out of their way to make Fido or Fluffy feel particularly welcome? Or is there a pet-friendly business (groomers, vets, doggy daycares, etc.) that provided especially good service for your animal pal? Post it here!

FORUM RULES - READ THIS FIRST sticky icon

1. Don't promote your own business. Let others do it for you. The obvious exception is the 'Travel Deals' forum.

2. If you have an issue with a lodging or a business (or someone who works there), take it up with them privately. Ask to speak with the manager if the person you're speaking with cannot resolve your issue. This is not the place to air grievances or attempt to mediate/resolve them.

3. Play nice!

Pet-Friendly Rental

Hi all,
My puppy and I just moved to Richmond Hill, Ontario while I a look for a place to rent. l found this cute apartment in Toronto, downtown around Broadview & Danforth. I've looked hi and lo but can't seem to find info on whether or not it is pet-friendly. I've never rented before...if a building doesn't say they are pet-friendly, does it mean they are definitely not?
Thanks,
Angela.

Boarding Kennels

I know this whole site is for pet friendly vacations and for years I have taken my dogs with me always. They have been to Las Vegas, Orlando, down the Oregan coast, all over Canada etc. But I bought a timeshare last year and want to take advantage of traveling to different countries now for a week a year. I am going to continue to take dog friendly holidays for the other weeks of the year that I am on holidays. I am looking for the best kennels in Alberta from experience. I am in the Edmonton area, but would travel to where ever for the best service for my dogs. I have 2 dogs, one being a 10 yr old BC that has never been in a kennel. I can't do an in house service because my other dog is an 8 month old BC cross and she needs alot of stimulation.

PET FRIENDLY?

Because my dog was a huge part of my family (sadly she passed away in February 2007) I was always looking for pet friendly places to vacation. Most places I come across seem great but there are those places that charge what I would consider outrageous amounts to bring your pet, some of which have even been brought to my attention by petfriendly.ca. One establishment wanted $50 per night..per night, not per visit....that's not pet friendly. My impression is that they don't really want you to bring your pet but if you do they'll make it worthwhile for themselves. How much damage and/or extra cleaning is required if a pet has stayed in a room?
